Abdulkadir Mohamed Geedi
Chairperson
The Chairperson of the Association of Local Government Authorities (ALGAPL) serves as the principal leader and representative of the organization. This role involves providing strategic direction, overseeing governance, and advocating for the interests of member local governments. The Chairperson collaborates with executives, government bodies, and stakeholders to enhance local governance and improve public service.
Mohamed Abdi Mohamud
Executive Director
As the Executive Director of ALGAPL, Mohamed Abdi Mohamud provides strategic leadership to strengthen the association’s institutional capacity and advocate for the interests of local governments in Puntland. He plays a key role in guiding ALGAPL’s vision, fostering collaboration among municipalities, and ensuring effective implementation of policies and programs. His work focuses on enhancing governance, resource mobilization, and stakeholder engagement to support local government development.
Kowsar Abdi Osman
Finanace officer
The Finance Officer at the Association of Local Governments Authorities of Puntland (ALGAPL) is responsible for managing the organization's financial operations, ensuring compliance with financial policies and regulations, and maintaining accurate financial records. The role includes budgeting, financial reporting, cash flow management, procurement oversight, and supporting the development of financial guidelines. The Finance Officer will work closely with the Executive Director and relevant stakeholders to enhance financial transparency, accountability, and sustainability within ALGAPL.
Mohamed Abdiaziz Artan
Program Acquisition & Management Specialist
Mohamed holds a master's in planning, policy development, and organizational management. As the Organizational Development Advisor and DRM Coach, he oversees strategic guidance for ALGAPL and its member municipalities in disaster risk management and organizational development. With over 10 years of experience, he provides expert training and support to enhance resilience and align strategic goals with community needs.

Communication Officer
The Communication Officer at the Association of Local Governments Authorities of Puntland (ALGAPL) is responsible for developing and implementing communication strategies to enhance the organization's visibility, engagement, and advocacy efforts. The role involves managing internal and external communications, maintaining media relations, producing content for various platforms, and ensuring consistent messaging aligned with ALGAPL’s mission. The Communication Officer will work closely with the Executive Director and stakeholders to strengthen ALGAPL’s outreach and public relations.

Planning officer
The Planning Officer at ALGAPL is responsible for overseeing the planning, implementation, and monitoring of the association’s strategic initiatives. This role ensures that ALGAPL operates efficiently by developing strategic plans, annual work plans, and action frameworks that align with its objectives. The Planning Officer will work closely with the leadership, member municipalities, and partners to enhance institutional planning and operational effectiveness.

The IT Officer at ALGAPL is responsible for managing and maintaining the organization’s information technology systems, ensuring smooth and secure operation of all digital infrastructure. This includes overseeing hardware and software installations, troubleshooting technical issues, managing network systems, and providing day-to-day IT support to staff. The IT Officer also plays a key role in data protection, cybersecurity, and ensuring that technology solutions align with ALGAPL’s operational needs and strategic objectives. In addition, the role may involve supporting the development of digital tools and systems to enhance internal workflows and communication.
